Our Story

It started at our kitchen table.

Not as a business. As a family trying to eat better and take care of each other.

The Smith Family

The Mannon Family

Like many families, we were simply looking for ways to eat better and care for the people we love. When my wife began milling fresh flour at home, we had no idea it would become such a defining part of our family's story.

We started with one grain, one mill, and one simple bread recipe. That was all it took.

As we filled our pantry with wheatberries and freshly milled flour, we started noticing changes in our own home. We felt better. I saw real improvement in my own health. Our son, who had struggled with gluten sensitivity, could enjoy foods we'd largely avoided. Even our daughter, who lives with a rare medical condition, seemed to benefit from the more nutrient-dense foods we were preparing. Those experiences changed the way we thought about food for good.

Fresh milling wasn't a trend for us. It became a lifestyle. One grain became five. Bread became pizza crust, pancakes, pasta, tortillas, rolls, and more. Our garage slowly filled with five-gallon buckets of carefully chosen grain, because we never wanted to go back to store-bought flour.

But as our passion grew, so did our frustration.

Finding high-quality grain was surprisingly hard. Suppliers were inconsistent. Ordering was inconvenient. Inventory disappeared without notice, and purchasing felt more complicated than it needed to be.

I've spent my career building businesses and improving how things operate, and I couldn't stop asking one question: why is something this good so difficult to access?

That question became an obsession. I started studying grain, not just its nutrition, but its history, how it's grown, how it's distributed, and what it means as one of the most enduring provisions God gave His people. And looking back, I realized my whole career, healthcare, logistics, operations, manufacturing, food production, had been preparing me for this without my knowing it.

What started as caring for my own family started to feel like a calling.

Grainer Good exists because we believe good food shouldn't be hard to find, hard to trust, or hard to enjoy. We want to simplify access to exceptional grain, and help families rediscover the nutrition, flavor, and versatility God built into it from the beginning.

Everything we do is guided by four priorities.

FaithFamilyHealthCommunity

We believe our bodies are worth good stewardship. We believe meals around the table strengthen families. And we believe business should serve people, not just shareholders.

That's why Grainer Good is about more than selling grain. Through initiatives like our future gleaning program, inspired by the book of Ruth, we hope to make sure quality food reaches the families who need it most.

This is our family's story.
Our prayer is that it becomes part of yours too.

Same Seed. Better Story.
